Hastings is a town in the South East of England in the county of East Sussex. With a population of about 84000 in 2000 it has quite a lot of residents.

Nowadays its known as a seaside resort however its also quite famously known as for the Battle of Hastings in 1066, this battle actually occurred nearby the town.

Hastings was also one of the Cinque Ports but after the Middle Ages the ports significance declined as the main industry became fishing.

Hastings still has the largest beach based fishing fleet in England. The town had also been extended in the latter part of the 20th century.

It is a historic place yet still a great one for students to carry out an internship or work placement in as it is truly unique.
