Did you know that Granada was first settled by native tribes in the prehistoric period, and was known as Ilbyr. And that the Romans made a change by colonizing southern Spain, they built their own city in Granada and called it Illibris. The Arabs or the North Africans, invading the peninsula in the 8th century and it is them who gave it its current name of Granada. It was also the last Muslim city to fall to the Christians in 1492, at the hands of Queen Isabel of Castile and her husband Ferdinand of Aragon.

For the students from abroad, Granada has lots of lively bars and restaurants. They are serving a range of tasty tapas and good food.

If you are the student who wants to get a taste of the History then for the Moroccan teashops, health food shops and an unusual vegetarian Moroccan restaurant, you can go and visit the street Calle Caldereria. This is also a good area for students to visit good restaurants or bars for a good price.

Relaxing is possible for students who are doing their internship, study or a work experience in Granada. It's for sure a good place to visit for students.
